thumbnail If you can recall, I introduced Taman Desa fish head noodles in my September post. Since then, I have never been there anymore because it is too far away and the food sold off fast so sometimes when you reach, there is nothing for you anymore. A best friend of mine recommended another area for great fish head noodle and the best part is that it is only 15 minutes away from my office! Less crowded, and more convenient. The only drawback is the limited parking space because it is located at a low-cost housing area. If you know where is Plaza Dwitasik, at that junction go all the way straight heading to the Cheras LRT station. Just go along the road, until you come to a small Chinese neighborhood. You can see a 4 storey building, the lowest floor are shop lots while the upper ones are flats. This fish head noodle shop is located here. Such coincidence, “Ho Chak” was here before to introduce the food.

The location is a food stall so eventually it is a little hot and stuffy here. While waiting to be served, I could smell the aroma of the fish head noodle especially the liquor fragrant. I ordered my usual fish head noodle with fried fish while my best friend asked for fish paste noodle. She was feeling lazy to de-bone the fish.

We waited for our food and I start looking around. A lot of customers were there despite the hot weather. And then I spotted the “Ho Chak” logo right beside the price list. An additional information is that they are closed on Thursday so don’t be there on the wrong day.

Finally here is our food. I can’t wait to taste it but had to hold my thoughts just for another while at least until I have taken the photos. It looks yummy with tomato, preserved vegetables, ginger and the crispy fried fish.My friend’s fish paste noodles looks as good. There are a lot of fish paste in it and it is definitely home made.

My fried fishes are crispy and there are not stingy about it. All in big pieces and a lot of it. RM 6.50 is so worth it! Be careful of the bones, never talk when you eat fish head noodle. Although, this stall and the one in Taman Desa seems to be the same restaurants, but I feel that here you are given much more ingredients and better service. Maybe because it is a neighborhood business.

The gravy is thick with milk and taste a bit sour because of the tomato. It is very appetizing as well. Overall, I rate it very good and am sure I be visiting them soon no matter what’s the weather.
