Taman Desa Fish Head Noodle
Sep
Work has taken all my time for the past few weeks. This is my usual lifestyle since my business is very related to the year end season. However, I have not forgotten to eat well and sleep well during this hectic period.
One of the day I was out on an appointment with my partners, I finally had the chance to try out the fish head noodles in Taman Desa. Quite a number of my friends have told me that it is good but I normally have quick lunch near my office so had no chance to go this far. This is like an opportunity and somehow the stressful week become a motivation for me to take a break.
There are many kinds of fish head noodle. Some are clear soup, some has salted vegetables while others uses fried fish head. The one served in this Woo Pin Restaurant Taman Desa is with thick broth. It is situated just across the condominium and behind the Nasi Kandar store. Outside the restaurant, its sign board shows a steamboat restaurant but that is the night business. From Tuesday to Saturday noon, only during the lunch time fish head noodles are served. They closes every Monday. Don’t be later than 3 p.m because by then they are ready to close and will not serve anymore. They also serve fish paste noodle.
Each bowl is individually cooked. The fish head is fried and the soup base is rather milky. I think it is so-so only because it does not have as much salted vegetables and ginger compared to the one selling at Pudu.
I also prefer the latter because it has this liquor called “Chiew Heng” and that makes the soup even more fragrant. My partners thinks otherwise. To them, both have its own uniqueness.
This one has thicker soup base, thus more milky and with lots of spring onion sprinkle on it. The boss is also very generous because there were a lot of fish meat.
Perhaps they were right, different people have different preference. But, in this shop I really enjoyed its Lime Sour Plum Juice.
If you want to give it a try, go ahead! It is not that bad tasting and maybe it is just the right type for you.
