Malaysian’s All Time Favorite; Nasi Lemak
Jan
I was on my way to a movie in Cineleisure and could not decide what to have for dinner. It is end of the month so I do not want to go for something too expensive but yet could nto stand the thought of some bad tasting food that will ruin my evening. My boyfriend suggested a detour to Damansara Utama for a meal before heading to movie. He used to work around the area and there is this shop that serves Malaysian food and tastes so great that it is always packed during lunches.
The shop is just situated on the same row as Cat’s Whiskers. We were so hungry and could not wait to try the food. When we were handed the menu, we knew what we want; the famous Nasi Lemak. Well, actually I wanted to try the Nasi Kandar but unfortunately it was sold out for the day. It took only about 5 minutes for the food to be served. The rice is so home cooked and the smell of coconut milk is just superb. The sambal belacan is exquisite but nothing could beat the crispy fried chicken.
The restaurant’s is run by a Chinese couple but there were many Malays eating here and they all seems to know the owner very well. Usually, nasi lemak will cost you RM 4.50 top, but this plate of nasi lemak cost more that the ordinary. I guess this what meant by you pay for what you get. As you can see, a lot of newspapers have covers the story of this restaurant so no doubt this is a recommended shop.
Maybe we were too hungry and with empty stomach you should not have taken any food with coconut milk. So, both of us did not enjoyed the after dinner effects especially when we had plans for a movie. Anyway, do try this shop out.
