TMFM stands for The Manhattan Fish Market. I am sure you have heard of this big food retail chain by local Malaysian. It was before gym and I have no idea what should I take for lunch so as I walked around Sunway Pyramid, I just decided to walk into this shop. It was my second time in this food restaurant.

The whole restaurant was decorated with photos of fisherman, ships and also the tools for fishing. You feel like you have just walked into a fishing boat.

In my earlier post about a Balinese restaurant in Puchong, I have already given many good      comments. I hope you have given it a try. Not long ago, I visited the place again with my mum and sister and had some different dishes this time so I would like to share it with you.

I was on my way to a movie in Cineleisure and could not decide what to have for dinner. It is end of the month so I do not want to go for something too expensive but yet could nto stand the thought of some bad tasting food that will ruin my evening. My boyfriend suggested a detour to Damansara Utama for a meal before heading to movie. He used to work around the area and there is this shop that serves Malaysian food and tastes so great that it is always packed during lunches.

I know I have not been updating new food here. Can’t blame me though, the country’s facing economy crisis so I have to save money and spend only when necessary. That is what they say, but still so many people are shopping and eating out; the malls are all packed. So, what economy crunch are we dealing with? Anyhow, I decided that I should recommend not too expensive but taste great food so everyone can still eat their heart out but in a much economical way.

This is a shop I have been to a few times. Last week I went there with my sister and KL. It is just a one lot shop in Taman Danau Desa that serves Taiwanese style Dim Sum. Yup, I sure sound like the dim sum queen since this is the who-knows-how many times I blog about dim sum. I just cannot get over with it.

If you can recall, I introduced Taman Desa fish head noodles in my September post. Since then, I have never been there anymore because it is too far away and the food sold off fast so sometimes when you reach, there is nothing for you anymore. A best friend of mine recommended another area for great fish head noodle and the best part is that it is only 15 minutes away from my office! Less crowded, and more convenient. The only drawback is the limited parking space because it is located at a low-cost housing area. If you know where is Plaza Dwitasik, at that junction go all the way straight heading to the Cheras LRT station. Just go along the road, until you come to a small Chinese neighborhood. You can see a 4 storey building, the lowest floor are shop lots while the upper ones are flats. This fish head noodle shop is located here. Such coincidence, “Ho Chak” was here before to introduce the food.

I have been to the real Bali and tried the food there. It was awesome and I love the fragrances of the spices used in the food. When I came back to Malaysia, I started hunting for Bali food. I tries Bumbu Bali in Bandar Puteri Puchong and thought that was good. Next time I am there again, I will blog about it. Thought it was good, yes, but on Friday I came across this new place for Bali style food by accident. I had no idea they serve Balinese food but have always been curious about this place. Each time I go to work or out of Puchong, I will for sure passed by this cafe. This particular cafe The Waterlily Cafe, a quiet cafe resides in the IOI Business Park just across the IOI Mall has attracted me to stop by for a drink after gym on Friday. The best part was I get to park for free right in front of the cafe like a valet services only better since it is free!

Many Chinese enjoy their morning tea. From the old days till now, Dim Sum have been one of the favorite breakfast among Chinese. Enjoy a variety of exquisite side dishes with chinese tea. Although I am not much of a breakfast person, but I enjoyed Dim Sum too.

This particular shop I had Dim Sum was spotted by convenience. We were around that area to meet a friend and could not decide what to eat for breakfast so we end up in this shop. This shop is situated in Damansara Jaya (Atria). I need to highlight that this shop is strictly cash term, not to worry about this; Maybank is just next to the restaurant see how convenient it is? :)

You can hold me to this one, yes it is expensive and it is a mamak style western. Where? Well, drive around the old Lim Kok Wing’s College area in Taman Mayang and you will see a lot of people hanging out at this stall. The boss, William is always around to supervise and he has his logo like the M for McDonald but upside down to symbolize W as in William’s.  It is at this broken down stall with no any sort of decoration, music, fancy utensils or waiter in black and white suit. You must be wondering why is this still expensive when there is not even a 3-star criteria..see it for yourself.

An unusual name to be used for a restaurant but this was the reason why I decided to go into the restaurant and take a look. The restaurant is just a small lot squeezed in between of the stretch of restaurants such as Sushi King. It is just above the ice rink in Sunway Pyramid.

The shop lot can fit about 15 tables for 4 pax. It was a Saturday, but there were not many customers. I was rushing time for a movie so decided that crowded restaurants might not be a good choice because of the long waiting list.

I was surprised to see the new look of this Oh Sushi in lower ground floor Mid Valley just across Swatch. I have been here before long ago but this new look is really interesting. Maybe there was a change in management, I am not sure. All I can be sure of is the food has also improve.
